Le Carnaval

What is happiness to you? Answers are subjective. But one of the greatest philosophers Jean-Jacques Rousseau has a general definition on happiness. “ We enjoy less what we obtain than what we hope for, and we are happy only before being happy.” It expresses a paradox that people actually feel happy in the time being before their desire is satisfied. Strange but somehow true. Now that everyone is longing for the post-pandemic world where parties, feasts and dances could be made possible without masks. The fantasy is real. With such anticipation, the illustration is inspired by carnival which is the time of rejoicing. Bright colors, topsy-turvy footstep and streamers intertwined await all eager souls.
